Here we have a sampling of the most memorable games in AWA history. But we had to define what "Greatest Games" really meant. Beating the Bay Area Jaguars 25-0 in 1975 may have been impressive on paper, but in reality what you had was a lopsided win against a team that was not very good. No, what we have here is a collection of games that are part of AWA lore. These are the games the guys reminisce about. Heck, we even have three losses and a tie in here. All of them are memorable.

These ten games are our eight league championship and two tournament championship game victories. An informal poll in 1994 among past AWA players to select the single greatest game in AWA history revealed two popular choices -- "The Miracle" of 1975 and the emotional "Triple Play" game of 1985. But each of these championships has its own special place in AWA history.
Of the non-championship games, the 1982 "Going Mental" tournament game stands out, and this one also earned strong consideration as AWA's Greatest Game. But the memory of all of these selections live on among those who were there.
