Wesley Yamaguchi
Wesley was merely a blip on the historical AWA radar, but he had his moment in the sun, and that moment etched young Wes forever into AWA lore. It came in the 1977 Cotati Tournament against the Icemen, who had future AWAer Joe Sammut on the hill. With the game on the line, and weak-hitting Wesley at the plate, Joe motioned for his outfielders to move in. One pitch later, Wes rifled a towering drive to center field for a home run. It won the game, and it turned out to be the only extra base hit of his one-year AWA career. The picture at left is the only image we have of #30. It's a good likeness.
